Who publishes this, and why
Hire Caregiver STL is a field manual for one reader at one moment: the son in the St. Louis metro who has already decided someone needs to be in the house, and now has to hire. Agency or hire it yourself, the questions to ask, the Missouri registry, hours, the first 72 hours, and what to do when it is not working.
Who publishes it
OwnersFirm publishes this site. It is a St. Louis shop that builds hiring manuals for families, and this clipboard is one of them. Nobody on this desk is a clinician, and nobody is quoted as if they were. Every page carries a desk byline rather than a named author, on purpose: nobody here should be mistaken for a nurse, a lawyer, or a tax preparer.
Why it exists
Search for how to hire a caregiver for your dad and most of what comes back is a company blog or a forum thread. The public pages that actually answer the question sit on Family Caregiver Alliance, the National Institute on Aging, Medicare.gov, the IRS, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. They are written for nobody in particular and they are not in the order the week arrives. This desk puts them in that order, in plain words, with a link on every fact so you can check it yourself.
New Plan Care is a client of OwnersFirm. The two companies are not commonly owned. How it is cited
Every number, rule, and phone number on this site links inline to a public source: a federal or Missouri government page, or a major nonprofit such as the National Institute on Aging or Family Caregiver Alliance. The desk opened each of those pages on September 10, 2026 and checked that the wording on this site matches what the source actually prints. The sources page is the inventory, with dates. If a claim is not in that inventory, it does not belong on these sheets.
What this desk never does
- It never gives medical advice, a diagnosis, a prognosis, or a treatment plan. Each sheet that touches a clinical edge has a block that sends the question to the care team or the doctor.
- It never prints an hourly rate or a range for any care company. No public dataset holds one, so this desk does not invent one.
- It never makes a negative or comparative claim about a hospital, a hospice, a facility, or a company. Public pages are maps, nothing more.
- It never invents a statistic, a quote, a review, or a testimonial. There are no composite families with fake names.
- It never describes New Plan Care as licensed, accredited, certified, clinical, or medical.
- It never runs an analytics tag, a pixel, or a call-tracking number. The only form posts to this site’s own address.
The advertising disclosure
One slot on this site is paid. New Plan Care is a client of OwnersFirm, which publishes this site, and pays for that slot. It is labelled every time it appears, on the home page and on the article pages where it honestly fits, and it is never a rank, a score, or a result of anything written here. The articles themselves were not bought, and none of them was written to tilt the scorecard toward the client. The one form on this site sends a name, a phone number, and a town or ZIP to New Plan Care so that someone can call back. It asks for nothing about anyone’s health, and its copy says so.
Corrections
Public pages change. If a figure on these sheets no longer matches the public page it points to, the public page wins, and the sheet gets corrected on the next review. The sources page prints the date each URL was last opened, so you can decide for yourself whether a line is still fresh.
